This week’s meeting is going to be a treat! Chris Loudon is going to talk to us about Bargello (one of my favorites). In the past we have done bargello projects and almost everyone did something different. I know mine was too much fun with all the colors and different patterns that were used. Many have done the Lorene Salt piece “Bargello Muse” in many color ways. She has so many beautiful pieces to choose from. We will see what Chris can tells us and get everyone excited for another bargello project – it will not be hard !
Do you have your ANG membership ID card??? Yes you do have one. I know my number but… The directions on how to do it are: Log In, Accounts & Settings, Payments & History, Membership, View/Print My Membership Card. I think printing it for your name badge at seminar could be handy.

News – News – News !!! A new needlepoint store is coming soon!! We are so lucky in this NY Metropolitan Area to have so many choices of stores and now we are getting another one! The new owners of Stitch Miami are planning on opening a store in Katonah NY – “Stitch Katonah”. They should be open for the 2025 Canvas Crawl. The plan is to have a grand opening on June 7 & 8. The Canvas crawl includes many well known stores in our area so you have plenty of opportunity to participate. Have you noticed how many new canvases there are with the subject of Mah Jong? Rittenhouse Needlepoint is taking it a step further – on May 31 they are having “Ready Set Mah Jong” classes. More nice news is happening – the owner of Morgan Julia Designs is engaged !! They met on a dating app and both lived in St. Petersburg FL. which is where her company is located. During their dating Will had to move for his job – Up North! Hmmmm could this mean a future new location for MJD??? She says she is brimming with ideas for wedding canvases and more. I have owned a System 4 table and travel stand for years and years. I improvised how to take it with me, from a rolling sewing machine bag to a yoga mat bag. Don’t deny it – we are all a bunch of bag ladies. We love all shapes and sizes. I found on KC Needlepoint’s web site a lovely looking handbag that you can stitch a strap for. It’s all leather by Pom Pom London. It has several pockets along with an adjustable strap but you can replace it with one you stitch. Tips and Tricks: Getting stitched items finished is getting harder and harder these days. Designers have met that challenge with self finishing in all sorts of shapes and sized items. Have you tried to do it? It’s not easy to get the canvas under that tight edge. You need to try this new tool from KC Needlepoint. It makes such a difference! This tool has a pointy end to help create a gap between the outer and inner leather layers. The flat end can be used to help smooth out and straighten your stitched canvas inside the leather product.
