We are in the Lazy – Hazy – days of summer and why not have a laid back meeting for August. This month the meeting will have the business portion along with a Stitch – In !! Designer News ! Hedgehog Needlepoint has collaborated with 2 designers to give us all 45 new designs. Hannelore of Hedegehog fame has teamed up with Elizabeth Crane Swartz and Kate Rhees. Elizabeth has her signature colorful dots on a Retro Tag that can be personalized or just use her TTF one (That Took Forever) – fun on a WIP carry bag. Chaparral in Dallas is doing a wonderful event to encourage younger people to enjoy the craft of needlepoint – they are having “Millennial Stitch Night” this Tuesday. Stitch Stash is doing their “25 Days of Needlepoint” for the 5th year now. You get a box with 25 wrapped items with the last being a canvas and stitch guide. If your a fan of M’s Canvas House then you may already know that September is going to be a big month for them. Meredith Willet is having a retreat over 3 days (14th, 15th and 16th). For $75 you can stitch in the shop for all 3 days and it includes lunch on 2 of the days. For another $25 you can sit with Meredith for a half hour – it’s a bargain. She also has a list of dates that she is doing “M’Bellishment Classes” (see in the photo’s) so you may want to contact the store to see if she has a seat left on one of those days.
